During my time with Meredith Corporation I was able to elevate my content management skills and learn how a national publication and one of the world’s largest food websites creates their social media strategy. Starting at 245K followers I was able to grow the Instagram account to 400k+ in a year with unique programing, paid advertising, and positive engagement strategies.
A big goal I set for myself was to change the tone of comments users made when posting on the page. Many of the users were very negative or would voice harsh critiques of recipes. Entering a Positive Engagement Strategy here allowed for real connections to be made and for people to feel like they were heard. This resulted in more positive engagements and a space where users and fans could engage with each other, raising the overall monthly engagement rates. From photography to segment producing I was able to jump behind the creative wheel and get projects moving. One example would be the pipeline for Allrecipes Magazine content to be highlighted on Instagram boosting subscriptions and raising content circulation.
Over the last few years i’ve been able to help the Seattle Good Business Network grow their online presence and influence through the Dine Around Seattle program. Developing influencer programs, highlighting unique makers, and key online advertising played the largest role in the brand’s success. After the merger with Seattle Restaurant Week the programs are more focused on seasonal pushes, truly helping restaurants succeed through slower times.
One program I helped launch and get circulated is the Game of Chefs. While the major push is done by Seattle Made, our launch year consisted of fun cocktail classes with Oola Distillery and curated influencer giveaways creating a buzz that boosted tail end ticket sales.
